Urban photographs: the “hôtel Désandrouin”

Standing on the square called after Godfrey of Bouillon, this stately mansion built in 1777
is also called "Palais Impérial" (Imperial Palace) because Napoleon 1st stayed there
on three occasions when planning his invasion of England from Boulogne.
Lately restored, the building now houses various research centres in connection with the new "Université du Littoral".
