The entrance to the Castle now a Museum

The Castle was built in 1227/31 by Philippe Hurepel.
Though separated from the Upper Town by a moat,
it is situated on the same level as the ramparts whose eastern side it reinforces.
The Castle now houses a large Museum, famous for its Egyptian antiquities.
