Cape Gris-Nez is a real crossroads for migratory birds.
Tourist information
Cape Gris-Nez is, together with Cape Blanc-Nez, the Mecca for ornithologists, frequented by many birdwatchers (especially from the Netherlands). Early in the morning, these enthusiasts are already on the spot with powerful telescopes in order to identify, count and study all kinds of birds. Some are migratory birds from Northern Europe, flying along the coast, seabirds living off the coast but easy to watch because the Channel is narrowest there. Besides those birds of passage, there are such “regular customers” as seagulls, diving ducks, eiderducks, warblers and kestrels, all nesting on the cliffs.
