The Saint-Saulve church and the Hotel-Dieu Chapel.

The Saint-Saulve church
Monks coming from Landevennec, in Britanny, founded the abbey of St. Saulve in the early 10th century.

The church, which used to be a Benedictine church, was reduced to half its original size as a result of the 1537 sacking by the army of the king Charles V (or Charles I of Spain).

Under the church organ lie recumbent figure from the 13th century. The front and the entrance to aisle on the left-hand side dates back to the 13th century.

Sacred art is everywhere to be seen in Montreuil.
The quality of the furniture of the town churches,
as well as the wealth of the Saint-Saulve and the Hotel-Dieu treasuries are evidence of an ostentatious religious past.

One of the oldest abbey cross in Europe is the most beautiful piece of sacred art in Northern France.
