The southern end of the seaside resort.

In the distance you can see the village of TERLINCTHUN,
one of those Saxon place-names so typical of the BOULOGNE area.
There is indeed a village called TERLING in ESSEX (between BRAINTREE and CHELMSFORD)
but no known TERLINGTON, which would be the ideal equivalent of TERLINCTHUN.
