Wissant, an attractive small town nestling among sand-dunes .
Windswept Wissant is a holiday resort for all kinds of surfers as well as the last port in France where the local fishermen ground their boats before selling their fish directly to locals, hoteliers and tourists.
Wissant is situated on a wide bay, half-way between Cape Gris-Nez and Cape Blanc-Nez, and boasts a beach made up of fine sand.
Already listed in 1987, the coast stretching between those two capes is a protected site.
Charles de Gaulle, fond of spending holidays in Wissant, wrote there his book "Au fil de l'épée".
